“One of the standout films at this year’s Cinequest, Kevin Pontuti and Alexandra Loreth’s The Yellow Wallpaper is one of those low budget gems that risks being lost in obscurity when it really deserves a wide audience. Adapted from Charlotte Perkins Gilman’s famous short story, it tars Alexandra herself as Jane, a woman ill at ease with the domestic and maternal roles which late Victorian society has set aside for her, who is shut up in an isolated house by her doctor husband in the hope that this will effect a personality change.”
